Deluge - the New Ubuntu Bittorrent Client

Deluge - Deluge is a new Bittorrent client, created using Python and GTK+. Deluge is intended to bring a native, full-featured client to Linux GTK desktop environments such as Gnome and XFCE.

Apt repositories are currently available for Ubuntu systems running Ubuntu Dapper or later on either i386 or amd64 systems. To add the repository, add one of the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list (replace VI with GEDIT or alike text editor):

sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://deluge.mynimalistic.net/apt dapper main

sudo aptitude update

suod aptitude -P install deluge

deluge

  1. As of Feisty, Deluge is in Ubuntu's universe repository. DO NOT INSTALL THIS VERSION
  2. If you want to run Deluge on an earlier version of Ubuntu, you'll have to build the package from source
