Easy Peasy Google SERP Ranking

In this brief blog entry I'll note the simple rules (steps?) to follow when preparing a web-page to be listed in the Google Search Engine Results Page. Search Engine Optimization is designing a Web site so that google easily finds the page. The goal is to have your page be in the top 10 results of a search. A list of keystones are as follows...

- Register your domain name for MORE then one year (positive PR for each year)
- Have a dedicated IP with only one site hosted (more httpd aliases minus PR)
- Wait (time added to the whois registration is positive PR)
- Use CLEAN urls (plus PR for keywords in tld, then work backwards for each directory)
- Use formating, (plus PR for headers, bold, em, etc...)
- Use META (plus PR for Keywords)
- Drop the WWW subdomain (minus PR for duplicate content)

Easy Peasy! To test, I went after the keywords; msxsecurity and msx+security. Posted two days from this entry. MSX Security...Where did they go? ...

... and the results today? Page ranked #8 on google.com
